Center Point Energy

Center Point Energy

Center Point Energy is a Fortune 500 company providing electric and natural gas services in the U.S. states of Arkansas, Minnesota, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi. It was part of Reliant Energy (from which it is currently isolated). The company is mainly associated with businesses like Champion Energy, Texas Power, Dynowatt, Ambit Energy, Reliant Energy, Direct Energy, Bounce Energy, Stream Energy, MXenergy, First Texas Energy Corporation, Kona Energy and Gexa Energy Cirro Energy. Center Point Energy is headquartered in the Center Point Energy Tower, a landmark in downtown Huston.

Center Point Energy Tower (previously Houston Industries Plaza) is a 741 feet (226 m) skyscraper in downtown Houston. The early construction, finished in 1974, was 651 feet (198 m) tall.

In 1996 architect Richard Keating re-designed the building, turning it into a Houston attraction. It added another six stories with a peculiar round shaped opening on top. In content, it sounds moronic. Be that as it may, and no matter what angle one looks at it from, the building is a wonderful sight during the day and a guide at night, when its lights are lit. The white lining of the top mirrors the spotlights, and every so often those lights will be changing colors to emphasize certain occasions. Houston Chronicle's Clifford Pugh wrote that "It was meant to resemble a lantern, but at night the lit open space looks more like a hovering spaceship."

For tourists and business travelers looking for hotels in Houston Texas, Stay Express Inn & Suites is conveniently located 3.0 miles from the Center Point Energy.
