Butterfly Center
The Cockrell Butterfly Center is part of the Houston Museum of Natural
Science’s family, offering to its visitors a different kind of fun specially
thought for the entire family where entertainment and education come together
in one unique experience. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to walk with
your kids through a real, breathing and living butterfly habitat full of the
most beautiful specimens that will marvel your eyes. Exploring the center and
the most amazing preserved specimens, playing fun games and spending your day
in the interactive exhibits such as the Rainforest Conservatory, The Brown Hall
of Entomology and obviously the permanent residents of the center, the
butterflies that bring all their color, beauty
The Cockrell Butterfly Center operates in the same hours the museum does,
Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and the last chance to visit it is one
hour before the museum closes. The tickets prices are $9.00 for adults and
$8.00 for children, college (presenting ID) and seniors (62+). If you and your
family are visiting on Thursdays do not let the chance to visit the Museum and
the Center for free go away. Yes! You read correctly! Every Thursday the
admission for the museum and its permanent exhibits are free for all visitors
from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm being the last opportunity to get a ticket at 4:00pm.
